REFLECTION
Learning Brand Corporate Identity has become very informative and a completely new experience. When I first started this project, I found the task of condensing a brand’s identity into physical, logical rules difficult. That is why even such an item as logo and such a component as color and typographical solutions, affect a brand identity in equal measure.
There is no doubt that the greatest benefit I got out of it was the value of organization. Margins, the columns and grids go beyond being mere devices; they are representation of clarity, order and cohesiveness. These aspects guarantee that the guidelines provided include all the elements as a single composition thus giving the guidelines full professional look to match the brand’s vision and values.
It also made me better understand the concepts of precision as well as discipline in branding processes. I now get the fact that creating a brand concept is not exclusive to making the brand visually appealing but also about developing a plan, having a purpose, and finding the target group you want to market the brand to and getting their trust. Nothing is arbitrary, starting with text alignment and extending to space between visuals- everything oozes planning and consideration for the brand.
Thinking about it, I realized that student has come very far in terms of recognizing subtleties of corporate identity. It has enriched me in terms of understanding the significance of design and how and what it can communicate. As I advance, I will take with me such skills and realization, which is crucial to build a great brand, based on consistency, purpose, and creativity.
